Surfbuoy is an innovative water safety device aimed at individuals partaking in watersports. It is easier and more comfortable to wear and use than lifejackets and buoyancy aids. The device is discreet, comfortable, buoyant only when activated, looks stylish and is relatively inexpensive. Mobility is not restricted and the device is not burdensome.
With over 372,000 drowning deaths annually, this device could potentially make a real difference in water safety.
The Surfbuoy team is comprised of three 3rd Year Engineering students with years of collective experience in and around water activities and sports, and the technical know-how and enthusiasm to make Surfbuoy a success!
